We are taking participants for the 2009 fall league now! Sign up by September 28th!
Because we have had such and interest in our leagues, we needed to be able to do a longer day so we have moved our league events to Saturdays.
Our dates are all in October and they are:
October 3rd
October 10th
October 24th
October 31st
This fall, because we have moved to Saturdays, we will be having three time slots.
The first time slot will be the Beginners League at 10:00
The second will be an Intermediate League at 1:00
And the final slot will be the U-Pick League at 4:00
You will get 8 runs in each time slot, everyone rides with everyone twice. If you can not make a date, please find a sub that is of equal riding ability or we may be able to find one for you. Each team can only have two subs in the same week. Price includes all 4 dates.
Just like in competition, number of head and time are kept and that will determine the winning team. Each week, number of cattle and time will be combined. At the end, these will all be added up and the team with the most cattle will win. If there is a tie then the time will be the tie breaker. Year end awards will be given in each time slot.
There has been a great interest in our beginners league. If you know of anyone that would like to learn more about chasing cows and having fun please send our info on to them! The beginners league is for anyone that has never chased a cow all the way up to people that just have young horses that have never done it and want to bring their horses up slow. This league is for learning, fun & light competition! Each team of five people will consist of 4 beginners and 1 coach. Gordy & I pick the teams and match them with the coaches. In this time slot the coach will be right at the fence helping during the whole time you are in the ring. The cost for the Beginners League will be $100 per person.
Intermediate League is for anyone else that has done Ranch Sorting before but does not do much for competitions. Depending on how many we have sign up for this time slot, we may allow some of the U-Pick team members to fill in spots. The teams will consist of five members as well, but again, Gordy & I will still be picking the teams so that there will be no teams that are stacked, if we can help it!! There will be no coach and thus no coaching during runs, but encourage teams to discuss there runs so that they learn from there mistakes. The cost for the Intermediate League will be $100 per person.
As for the last time slot, it is just like any other league, you come with your own team of five people. However, if you are having problems filling up just let us know, we may have someone else looking for a team to be on. The cost for the U-Pick League will be $125.
We will try to have a $5 jackpot after leagues each date, time allowing.
